A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF A1~AHEIM IN SUPPORT OF THE ~~IAHEIM
CHAl'4BER OF COJ:1iYIERCE POSITION OPPOSING THE
GENERAL STANDARDS PUBLISHED BY THE ENVIRON-
~lliNTAL PROTECTION AGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce ,the
Chamber of Commerce of the United States and the California
Air Resources Board has gone on record opposing certain rules
dated June 15, 1973, published by the Environmental Protection
Agency; and
vlliEREAS, the City of Anaheim recognizes and
supports the need for cleaner air and improved Air Control
Standards; and
~VHEP~AS, the Environmental Protection Agency has
published rules dated June 15, 1973 which will create serious
economic and social impacts on local areas without advance
warning, notification and opportunity to prevent opposition
to said rules.
NOv.1, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the City hereby opposes thev
published rules dated June 15, 1973 of the California Environ-
mental Protection Agency, adopted without hearings and propos-
ing to reduce available parking in the city, placing a ceiling
on gasoline consumption, and preventing the construction of
new parking facilities during the development of new parks,
recreational facilities and urban modernizationi and requiring
bus and car pool lanes on all major streets and freeways,
creating congestion and confusion.
