RESOLUTION NO. 73R-470
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS OF A JOINT EXERCISE OF POWERS
AGREEMENT WITH THE SAN GABRIEL VALLEY
MUNICIPAL DATA SYSTEM &~D AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, Anaheim is a Charter City, organized
and existing pursuant to the laws of the State of
California; and
~VHEREAS, San Gabriel Valley Municipal Data
System (hereinafter referred to as MDS) is a Joint Powers
Agency heretofore established pursuant to the law of the
State of California for the purpose of providing and main-
taining a centralized Data Processing System for its member
agencies; and
\>JHEREAS, Anaheim and MDS has a need for establish-
ing and maintaining a Data Processing System which has greater
capabilities than each of the parties currently possess; and
WHEREAS, Title 1, Division 7, Chapter 5 of the
Government Code of the State of California (commencing with
Section 6500 thereof) authorizes the Joint Exercise of Powers
by two or more agencies of any power common to them; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Anaheim and MDS to
enter into a Joint Powers Agreement for the purpose of estab-
lishing a joint Data Processing Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the terms and conditions of an
agreement between Anaheim and rIDS, dated October 9. 1973 be,
and the same are hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized to execute said agreement on behalf of
the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 9th day of October, 1973.
