A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIIE CITY OF ANAHEIM
CALIFORNIA, DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE IMPARTIAL ANALYSES
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election is to be held in the City of
Anaheim, California, on March 5, 1991, at which there will be submitted to the
voters th~ following measures:
MOBILE HOME RENT CONTROL. Shall the ordinance
submitted by initiative petition ~o limit and YES
centrol the amounts of rent which can be charged
to tenents for occupancy of space in mobile home NO
parks in the city of Anaheim be adopted?
DIRECT ELECTION OF MAYOR. Shall Sections 500,
501, 503 and 504 of the City Charter be amended
to (1) increase the term of the elected Mayor to
four years, make the office of Mayor a separate YES
City Council seat, allow any qualified resident
to'run for Mayor, end prohibit candidates from
seeking election as both Mayor and city Council
member at the same election, which amendments NO
would become effective in 1994; and (2} make
other changes relating to the offices of Mayor
and City Council member?
CITY COUNCIL SALARY LIMIT. Shall Section 502 of
the City Charter be amended to limit the salaries YES
of members of the city Council and the Mayor to
the same amounts as established and authorized by NO
state law for city council members in general law
(non-charter) cities?
ADVISORY VOTE ONLY
FINANCING OF EEW EeLICE,' FIRE AND PAR~/4EDIC
SERVICES. Should the City Council create a
Public Safety Benefit Assessment District YES
throughout the City of Anaheim to finance the
cost of providing additional police officers, NO
firefighters and paramedics for the city?
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAi~EIM DOES RESOLVE,
DECLARE DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Clerk transmit a copy of the measure to
fhe City Attorney. The City Attorney shall prepare an impartial analysis of
the measures showing the effect of the measure on the existing law and the
operation of the measure.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
