90-441 RESOLUTION NO. 90R-441 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM SETTING FORTH AN ADVISORY PROPOSAL CONCERNING THE CREATION OF A PUBLIC SAFETY BENEFIT ASSESSMENT DISTRICT TO BE VOTED UPON AT THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON MARCH 5, 1991. WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority of Section 1302 of the Charter of the City of Anaheim and Section 5353 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the City Council of the city of Anaheim desires to submit a certain measure to the electors of the City of Anaheim for the purpose of allowing said electors to voice their opinion on said issue; and WHEREAS, the city Council desires that said ballot measure be submitted to the electors of the City for an advisory vote only, and that the results of said advisory vote shall in no manner be controlling or binding on the City Council; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 1300 of the Charter of the City of Anaheim, a special municipal election shall be held in the City of Anaheim on March 5, 1991; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to submit said ballot proposal to the electors of the City of Anaheim at said special municipal election to be held on March 5, 1991. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Anaheim, California, does hereby resolve, declare, and determine and order as follows: SECTION 1. That, pursuant to Section 1302 of the Charter of the city of Anaheim and Section 5353 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the hereinafter specified ballot proposal be submitted for an advisory vote only, to the electors at the special municipal election to be held in the City of Anaheim on March 5, 1991. SECTION 2. That the aforesaid ballot proposal hereby submitted to the electors of the City of Anaheim shall appear upon the ballots for said special municipal election in the following form: ADVISORY VOTE ONLY FINANCING OF NEW POLICE, FIRE AND PARAMEDIC SERVICES. Should the City Council create a Public Safety Benefit Assessment District YES throughout the City of Anaheim to finance the cost of providing additional police NO officers, firefighters and paramedics for the City of Anaheim? SECTION 3. That the city Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately.
