WHEREAS, the United States Congress has passed the
Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973 which pro-
vides for local governments to enter into joint manpower con-
sortiums; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange and the Cities of
Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, Garden Grove and Anaheim are
desirous of forming a manpower commission to receive funds
and administer programs under the federal Act; and
WHEREAS, the named cities and the County are empowered
by law to enter into such joint powers agreement to administer
funds for manpower and related activities for the mutual bene-
fit of all interested parties in Orange County; and
WHEREAS, a joint powers agreement has this day been
submitted to the City of Anaheim, the terms and conditions
whereof are satisfactory to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the terms and conditions of a
joint exercise of powers agreement for Orange County Manpower
Commission, this day submitted, be, and the same are hereby
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
are authorized and directed to execute said agreement on
behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
