RESOLUTION NO. 74R -84
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXE-
CUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPART-
MENT OF HIGHWAY PATROL RELATING TO MOTORCYCLE
TRAINING CLASSES FOR ANAHEIM POLICE OFFICERS
AT THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL ACADEMY.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to send certain
officers of the Anaheim Police Department to attend motorcycle
training classes conducted by the State of California, Depart-
ment of Highway Patrol at the California Highway Patrol Academy;
and
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of
California Highway Patrol is willing to furnish such training
services and to allow certain officers of the Anaheim Police
Department to use its Highway Patrol Academy facilities while
attending said motorcycle training classes; and
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of
California Highway Patrol has submitted to the City a form of
agreement providing for the training, housing and status of
Anaheim Police Officers while attending motorcycle training
classes at the California Highway Patrol Academy and providing
for the manner of bearing the cost and expense of training and
housing Anaheim Police Officers attending said classes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be for
the benefit and in the best interests of the City to enter into
said agreement with the State of California, Department of
California Highway Patrol and that the same should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that said Agreement, this day submitted to
the City Council to be made and entered into between the City of
Anaheim and the State of California, Department of Highway
Patrol, providing for the training, housing and status of Anaheim
Police Officers attending motorcycle training classes at its
California Highway Patrol Academy upon the terms and conditionq,
and for the compensation set forth in said Agreement be, and the
same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 26th day of February 1974.
