A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ANAHEIM CITY
SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF A
NATURALIST FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE OAK
CANYON SITE AS A NATURE CENTER.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim City School
District desire to promote and preserve the health and welfare of
the people of the City of Anaheim and of the Anaheim City School
District, and to cultivate and develop good citizenship by provid-
ing far an adequate program of Environmental Education that will
develop citizens aware of ecological concerns; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim City School
District desire to cooperate with each other to carry out the pro-
visions of the U.S. Environmental Education Act and the California
State Plan, Title III, ESEA, and to that end, enter into an agree-
ment with each other to provide for a joint program of Environmen-
tal Education by the employment of a qualified Project Naturalist
for the development of the Oak Canyon Site as a Nature Center; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim City School
District agree that a qualified Naturalist should be employed for
such purposes; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared, the terms and
conditions of which are satisfactory to the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the terms and conditions of an agreement
between the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim City School District
for the period November 1, 1974, to and including October 31, 1977,
pertaining to the employment of a Naturalist be, and the same are
hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said Agreement on
behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 8th day of October, 1974.
