RESOLUTION NO. 74R -411
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ENDORSING THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS
FLOOD CONTROL REPORT ALTERNATE "F
WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has prepared
a detailed engineering study for the Santa Ana River and Prado
Dam improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers has developed an array
of alternates described in an August 1974 "Information Brochure,
Alternative Proposals for Flood Control and Allied Purposes,
Santa Ana River Basin and
WHEREAS, one of the Corps of Engineers alternative
proposals identified as Plan F, includes: a dam and reservoir
at Mentone in San Bernardino County, modification of Prado Dam
raising the height approximately 13 feet and providing a maximum
controlled discharge of 20,000 cubic feet per second contemporaneous
with peak discharges from downstream tributaries, and improvement
of the lower Santa Ana River Channel for protection during the
occurrence of a standard project flood; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim deems
it in the best interest of the City to endorse Alternate F of
said Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that it does hereby endorse the Army Corps
of Engineers Plan F as contained in the August 1974 "Information
Brochure, Alternative Proposals for Flood Control and Allied
Purposes, Santa Ana River Basin."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
authorized to transmit a copy of this resolution to the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 20th day of August, 1974.
