1974-409RESOLUTION NO. 74R -409 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 5, 1974, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY A PROPOSITION TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CERTAIN SUBLEASE BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE ANAHEIM REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, AND CONSOLIDATING SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE SAME DATE. WHEREAS, this City Council desires to submit to the voters of the City of Anaheim, pursuant to Section 4019 of the Elections Code, a proposition for the adoption of Ordinance No. 3350 approving a certain sublease agreement between the City and the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency, pursuant to which the City will sublease from the Agency a city hall, parking facility and related public facilities at an annual base rental not to exceed $1,300,000.00 and for a term not to exceed 35 years; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Anaheim, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows: Section 1. A special election is hereby called to be held in said City on November 5, 1974, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said City the proposition hereinafter set forth. Section 2. The polls for said election shall 4 be opened at seven o'clock a.m. of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until eight o'clock p.m. of the same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of California. Section 3. The proposition (which may be abbreviated to the extent permitted by law) to be so submitted shall be substantially as follows: Shall the City of Anaheim adopt Ordinance No. 3350 approving the sublease by the City of a city hall, parking facility and related public facilities from the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency at an annual base rental not to exceed 1,300,000.00 and for a term not to exceed 35 years? Section 4. The manner of holding said election shall be the manner provided by or pursuant to law for the holding of the statewide general election in the County of Orange, and the method of voting for or against said proposition shall be the method provided by or pursuant to law for voting on measures at said statewide general election in said county. Section 5. If the proposition receives a majority of votes cast on it at said election, the ordinance shall be enacted accordingly. 2. Section 6. The special election hereby called for the date hereinbefore specified shall be and is hereby ordered consolidated with the statewide general election to be held on said date, and within said City the precincts, polling places and officers of election for the special municipal election hereby called shall be the same as those provided for said statewide general election. The Board of Supervisors of Orange County is hereby requested to order the consolidation of the special municipal election hereby called with said statewide general election, and said Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized to canvass the returns of said special municipal election, and said elections shall be held in all respects as if there were only one election, and only one form of ballot, namely, the ballots used at said statewide election, shall be used. Said Board of Supervisors shall certify the results of the canvass of the returns of said special municipal election to this City Council which shall thereafter declare the results thereof. A proposition submitted by this resolution shall be designated on the ballot by a letter printed on the left margin of the square containing the description of the measure, as provided in Section 10231 of the Elections Code. Section 7. The City Clerk shall cause Ordinance No. 3350 to be printed and mailed as required by Section 4020 of the Elections Code, in cooperation with the Registrar of Voters of Orange County. 3. synopsis for two Anaheim printed Section Section 9.
