A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 74R -53, PERSONNEL RULE 6,
PREMIUM PAY, SECTION 6.05, RELATING TO EXTENDING STRAIGHT
TIME COMPENSATION FOR FIRE BATTALION CHIEFS FOR SHIFTS
WORKED OVER AND ABOVE THE ANNUAL SCHEDULE.
WHEREAS, the 1973 negotiations with the Anaheim Fire Association
resulted in the provision that shifts worked over, and above the annual
schedule for fire suppression personnel, through the rank of Fire Captain,
would be compensated at the straight time hourly rate, and
WHEREAS, in order to establish conformity in the provisions for
compensation of shift work over and above the annual schedule for all
fire suppression personnel, it is necessary to establish a similar compen-
sation provision for the management job class of Fire Battalion Chief, and
WHEREAS, the need exists to amend Resolution No. 74R -53,
Rule 6, Section 6.05 which established premium pay provisions, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that
adoption of the recommended compensation provision for the management
job class of Fire Battalion Chief is in the best interests of the City
of Anaheim
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that Resolution No. 74R -53, Rule 6, Section 6.05 be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"RULE 6. PREMIUM PAY
Section 6.05 Notwithstanding the above overtime provisions, there
shall be no compensation for the time spent in attending meetings
of any kind which are for the purpose of education or training;
Police Lieutenants shall be compensated at their regular hourly
rate of pay for required court appearances during off -duty hours;
and Fire Battalion Chiefs assigned to suppression shall be compen-
sated at their regular hourly shift rate of pay for required shifts
over and above the annual schedule."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except to the extent amended,
Resolution No. 74R -53, shall remain in full force and effect, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this reso-
lution shall be July 12, 1974.
