RESOLUTION NO. 74R- 294
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF AN AGREEMENT AUTHORIZING MELODYLAND GUARDS
TO DIRECT TRAFFIC AT THAT PORTION OF FREEDMAN
WAY WHICH BORDERS MELODYLAND PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, many persons attending religious services
and other related activities at Melodyland enter and leave
Melodyland premises at the entrance to said premises adjacent
to Freedman Way in the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable for Melodyland to employ
guards to direct traffic entering, leaving and traversing that
portion of Freedman Way which borders Melodyland property, and
to have such guards deputized by the City of Anaheim as offi-
cers of the Anaheim Police Department for the purpose of invest-
ing them with adequate and legal authority to direct traffic at
said location; and
WHEREAS, a form of agreement dated May 3
1974, has been submitted to the City Council to be made and
entered into between Melodyland and the City of Anaheim provid-
ing for the deputizing of such guards and providing for adequate
insurance coverage to protect the City against claims for damage
or injury arising by reason of any act, omission or neglect on
the part of said Melodyland; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that said agree-
ment would be for the benefit and best interest of the City and
should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the agreement this date submitted
to the City Council dated May 3 1974, to be made
and entered into between the City and Melodyland, a California
non profit corporation, providing for the deputizing of guards
to direct traffic entering, leaving and traversing that portion
of Freedman Way which borders the Melodyland property in the
City of Anaheim, upon the terms and conditions therein set
forth be, and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be, and they are hereby authorized to execute said agree-
ment for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 18th day of June 1974.
