A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM URGING THE ANAHEIM CITY SCHOOL
DISTRICT TO GIVE FAVORABLE'CONSIDERATION TO
THE REQUEST TO ABSORB RIO VISTA SCHOOL INTO
THE ANAHEIM SCHOOL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Placentia Unified School District, at
present, operates the Rio Vista School in the Northeastern
part of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Anaheim who live in this
area are desirous of having the Anaheim School District absorb
Rio Vista School to avoid bussing of children, and to obtain
a better Parks and Recreational Joint Program between the City
and the Anaheim School District; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of said area have obtained
signatures of more than 25% of the voters of said area request-
ing Rio Vista School to be absorbed into the Anaheim School
District; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of
Anaheim to urge the Anaheim School District to absorb the
Rio Vista School.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City does hereby urge the Anaheim
School District to absorb the Rio Vista School into their
school district.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 4th day of June, 1974.
