A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 74R -206 AND RESOLUTION 74R -53
PERSONNEL RULE 6, PREMIUM PAY, BY AMENDING SECTION 6.0,
BY ADDING SECTION 6.26 AND BY DELETING SECTIONS 6.9
THROUGH 6.911, RELATING TO PREMIUM PAY FOR CERTAIN
DESIGNATED EMPLOYEES IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Personnel Director has met and conferred with
officials and employee representatives of the Anaheim Fire Association
to discuss wages and hours of work, and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the need exists to amend
Resolution No. 74R -206 and Resolution No. 74R -53 which established
premium pay provisions, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that
adoption of the recommended provisions is in the best interests of the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that Resolution No. 74R -206 and Resolution No. 74R -53, Rule 6,
sections 6.0 and 6.26 be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows:
"RULE 6. PREMIUM PAY
Section 6.0 An employee in the classified service who performs author-
ized work in excess of his normal work period, regular work week, work
day or shift shall be compensated for such work at the rate of one -and-
one -half times his regular hourly rate of pay. A temporary, seasonal, or
part -time employee in the exempt service who performs authorized work
in excess of forty (40) hours in his regular work week shall be
compensated for such overtime work at the rate of one -and- one -half times
his regular hourly rate of pay.
Section 6.26 Off -duty fire suppression personnel who are called out for
emergency work shall be guaranteed a minimum of four (4) hours work,
calculated from the time of personal notification until the end of said
work period, unless the work continues into the regular scheduled shift."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 74R -53, Rule 6, be and
the same is hereby amended to delete Sections 6.9 through 6.911, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except to the extent amended, Resolu-
tion No. 74R -206 and Resolution No. 74R -53 shall remain in full force
and effect, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this resolution
shall be January 1, 1975.
