1974-618WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim is
cognizant of the fact that there are serious flood problems
in the Santa Ana River Flood Plain; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency,
a Joint Powers Agency, has been formed to disseminate informa-
tion on the flood hazard potential of the Santa Ana River and
feasible plans for mitigating the flood threat for the pro-
tection of the health, safety and general welfare of the
citizens of the Santa Ana Flood Plain; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
believes it to be in the best interest of the City to join
said Joint Powers Agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the terms and conditions of a
Joint Powers Agreement establishing the Santa Ana River Flood
Protection Agency between the City of Anaheim, the Orange
County Flood Control District and other participating govern-
mental agencies and municipalities be, and the same is hereby,
approved;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk are authorized to execute said agreement on behalf
of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 24th day of December, 1974.
