A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL
HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM CERTAIN HIGH
WAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS. (1975 -1976)
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve the
following streets:
Anaheim Boulevard Raster Street Overcrossing of
the Santa Ana Freeway.
Right -of -way and temporary construction easements.
Fairmont Boulevard Santa Ana Canyon Road to
Canyon Rim Road.
Lincoln Avenue Sunkist Street to State College
Boulevard.
WHEREAS, the aforementioned streets are important ar-
teries in the County of Orange and of general County interest;
and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division
2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appro-
priate action, provide in the County Budget of the Special Road
Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1975 -1976, a sum of money
for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of
the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim requests, and it
does hereby request, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange to allocate to the City of Anaheim, from County funds,
the amounts set forth below, said amounts to be matched by funds
from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement
of the streets set forth herein and for the acquisition of nec-
essary rights -of -way; said improvements and acquisition of rights
of -way and the specific amounts in connection with each project
are as set forth below:

Right -of -way and temporary construction
easements
The California Department of Transporta-
tion is planning to construct a new two
way overcrossing of the Santa Ana Freeway

between Anaheim Boulevard and Master
Street and modify the existing freeway
ramps. Under the policy of the Califor-
nia Highway Commission and the terms of
a proposed Cooperative Agreement between
the City of Anaheim and the Department
of Transportation, the City is obligated
for the cost of right -of -way and tempor-
ary construction easements required for
construction of roadways outside the
freeway right -of -way.
$425,000. Fairmont Boulevard Santa Ana Canyon
Road to Canyon Rim Road
This project consists of the construction
of a new two -lane road for traffic circu-
lation within the Anaheim Hills to Santa
Ana Canyon Road area.
The right -of -way acquisition for this pro-
ject was previously approved as A.H.F.P.
Ho. 741 for the 1974 -1975 Fiscal Year.
75,000. Lincoln Avenue Sunkist Street to State
College Boulevard
This project consists of reconstructing
the existing roadway and right -of -way ac-
quisition and widening to ultimate east
of State College Boulevard to provide a
left turn pocket and landscaped median
island.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said works
and acquisition of rights -of -way as set forth above are in the
general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that by this resolution that the
City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial
Highways Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of
the cost of improvements and rights -of -way will be available for
the Fiscal Year 1975 -1976.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby, authorized and directed to forward a certified copy
of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County,
California, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor and Road
Commissioner at 400 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana, California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
