WHEREAS, the Public Employees' Retirement La,; permits the participation of public
agencies and their employees in the Public Employees' Retirement System
by the execution of a contract, and sets forth the procedure by which
said public agencies may elect to subject themselves and their employees
to amendments to said law; and
WHEREAS, one of the steps in the procedure to ...mend this contract is the adoption
by the legislative body of the public agency of a resolution giving
notice of its intention to approve an amendment to said contract, which
resolution shall contain a summary of the change proposed in said contract;

the following is a statement of the proposed change:
EXCLUDE POLICE CADETS HIDED ON OR AFTER JAN_ RY 1, 1975.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the CITY COLT CII of the CITY CI? -ET:.I
gives, and it .does hereby give, notice of intention to approve an
amendment to the contract between the CITY COUNCIL and the Board of
Administration of the Public-Employees' Retirement System, a copy of
said amendment being attached hereto., Itarked "Exhibit A" and by this
reference made a part hereof.

referred to as Board and the CITY COu:',CII, of. the CITY OP ANAHEIM, hereinafter re-
ferred to ao Public Agency having entered into a contract under the date of July
25, 1950, effective September 1, 1 95 0 as amended effective July 1, 1956, September
1, 1956, July 1, 1959, May 1, 1962, August 1, 1962, January 22, 1965, April 23,
1967, September 27, 1968, July 2, 1971, and October 1, 1973, and as provided by
Chapters 170 and 316, Statutes of 1971, which provide for participation of Public
Agency in said System, Board and Public Agency hereby agree as follows:
A. The following exclusion shall be added to Paragraph 3 of said contract:
