A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE GRANT OF AN EASEMENT
ACROSS CERTAIN CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AND AUTH-
ORIZING EXECUTION OF A DEED CONVEYING SAID
EASEMENT.

WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to construct a
public library on City -owned property located on the east side
of Euclid Street, south of Palm Lane (hereinafter referred to
as Property); and
WHEREAS, said Property is presently encumbered by a
utility easement in favor of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph
Company (hereinafter referred to as Company), which easement
interferes with the proposed library building; and
WHEREAS, said Company has agreed to abandon and quit
claim said existing easement if the City of Anaheim will grant
another public utility easement across another portion of Prop-
erty where said easement will not interfere with said proposed
building; and
WHEREAS, a deed conveying to Company a new easement
across Property has been prepared, which deed is hereby deter-
mined to be correct; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of
Anaheim to convey said easement to Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in consideration
of Company's agreement to tender a quit claim deed to abandon
its present easement across Property, the City of Anaheim does
hereby grant to Company a public utility easement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute said
deed on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and is
hereby, authorized and directed to transmit said deed and a certi-
fied copy of this Resolution to Company.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 3rd day of June 1975.
