A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF A LETTER AGREEMENT DATED APRIL 2, 1976,
BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND NEVADA POWER
COMPANY TO PURCHASE ECONOMY ENERGY, AND AN
AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE NON-FIRM TRANSMISSION
SERVICE FOR SUCH ENERGY WITH THE SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY; AND AUTHORIZING
THE UTILITES DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREE-
MENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim. and Nevada Power
Company are negotiating an agreement by which Anaheim will
purchase from Nevada surplus energy for a period of years;
and
WHEREAS, City of Anaheim and Nevada Power Company
desire to enter into an interim arrangement whereby Anaheim
purchases economy energy from Nevada Power Company; and
WHEREAS, a letter agreement dated: April 2, 1976,
providing for the interim purchase of economy energy has
been submitted to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City
of Anaheim to enter said arrangement in order to purchase
energy .at a cheaper rate than the same energy could be
purchased from the Southern California Edison -Company; and
WHEREAS, the Southern ,California Edison Company
has agreed to provide non-firm transmission.service to
deliver such energy to the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the terms and conditions of the
letter agreement dated.April 2,. 1976, between the City of
Anaheim and Nevada Power Company be,: and the same are hereby,
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms and
conditions of an agreement between the City of Anaheim and
the Southern California Edison Company for non-firm trans-
mission service to deliver said energy to the City of
Anaheim be, and the same are hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Utilities Director
of the City of Anaheim is hereby authorized: to execute both
of the aforesaid agreements on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
