A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO APPROVE AIN AMEND -
DENT TO CONTRACT BETNIEEN THE BOARD OF ADIMINIS-
TRATION1 OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT
SYSTEM AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF 711E CITY OF
ANAHEIM.

?'F 2 EREAS the Public Employees' Retirement Law permits
the participation of public agencies and their employees in the
Public Emplovees' Retirement System by the execution of a con-
tract and sets forth the procedure by which said public agencies
may elect to subject themselves and their employees to amend-
ments to said lai#; and
TVTHEREAS, one of the steps in the procedure to amend
this contract is the adoption by the legislative body of the
public agency of a resolution giving notice of its intention to
approve an amendment to said contract, which resolution shall
contain a summary of the changes proposed in said contract; and

TWHEREAS, the following is a statement of the proposed

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Anaheim gives, and it does hereby give notice of
intention to approve an amendment to the contract between the
City Council and the Board of Administration of the Public
Employees' Retirement System, a copy of said amendment being
attached hereto, marked "Exhibit Av- and by this reference made
a part hereof.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me

AMENDMENT TO COTITRACT BETWEEN THE
BOARD OF ADKINISTRATION
PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM
AND THE
CITY COUNCIL
OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM
The Board,of Administration, Public Employees' Retirement System, herein-
after referred to as Board and the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF ANAHEITA, here-
inafter referred to as.Publi,c Agency.having-entered into a contract under the
date of July 25, 1950, effective September 1, 1950, as amended.effective
July 17 1956, September 1, .1956, July 1, 1959, May 1,1962, August 1, 1962,
'January 22, 1965,, April 28, 1967, September 27, 1968, July 2, 1971, October 1,
1973, December 26, 1974, May 30, 1975, and June 25, 1975, and as provided by
Chapters 170 and 316, Statutes of 1971, which provide for participation of
Public Agency in said System, Board and Public Agency hereby. agree as follows:
A. The following subparagraph shall be added to Paragraph 6 of -said contract:
6. (f) Section 20024.2 (defining "final compensation" on the basis of
average compensation earnable during the year"immediately pre-
ceding retirement or any other one year period elected by the
member) for miscellaneous -and/or safety members.
B. Paragraphs 7 (a) and 7 (b) shall be stricken from said contract and
the following Paragraph.7 (a) and 7 (b) shall be substituted therefor:
7. Public Agency shall contribute to said Retirement System as follows:
a. With respect to miscellaneous members, the public agency
shall contribute the following percentages of monthly
salaries earned as miscellaneous members.of said.System:
(1) 0.15 percent until June 30, 2000 on account of the
liability forprior service benefits.
(2) 9.53 percent on account of the liability for current
service benefits.
(3) 0.20 percent on account of the liability dor the 1959
Survivors program.

b. With respect to local safety members, the public agency,shall
.contribute the following percentages of monthly salaries earned
as local safety members of said System:
'(1) 0,116 percent until June 30, 2001 on account of,the
liability for prior service benefits. .
(2) 21:.120 percent on account of the liability,for current
service benefits.
C. This amendment shall be attached to said contract and .shall become
effective on the day of
