A RESOLUTION, OF THE CITY COUNC.-LE-1. OF THIE CITY
OF PUNAHEII-11 APPROVING NN AGP Ek� NT WITH THE
COUNTY OF ORANGE FOR THE INSTALALPPlION OF' A
TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT GILBEIRT STREET A�N_ID CERRITOS
AVENUE AkiD AUTHORIZING THTE 14A"'YOR AND CITY
C.Wl�.T ERK TO EXECUTE SAID AGR=MMENT.
WHEREAS, considerable traffic congestion presently
exists and is progressively increasing at the intersection of
Gilbert Street and Cerritos Avenue; and
WHEREAS, traffic conditions of said intersection war-
rant the installation of traffic control signals and highway
intersection lighting to facilitate the safe and orderly move-
ment of traffic; and
WHEREAS, County of Orange is willing to cooperate with
the City of Anaheim for the construction of said traffic signal
and highway intersection lighting system; and
WHEREAS, County and City entered into Agreement 173-474
dated April 24, 1973 for the installation of a traffic signal at
the intersection of Gilbert Street and Cerritos Avenue under the
TOPICS pro -ram; and
NMEF�EAS, this project never received TOPICS funds and
was, therefore, never constructed under Agreement 173-474; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has this day been submitted, the
terms and conditions whereof are satisfactory to the City; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of
Anaheim to enter into said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by tae City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the certain agreement t1his day subrmitted
for the installation of a traffic signal at Gilbert Street and
Cerritos Avenue with the County, of Orange be, and the sa-tree is
hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk be,
and they are hereby, authorized to execute said. -agreement for and
on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
