1976-127RESOLUTION NO. 76R- 127 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CITY RECORDS 14ORE THAN FIVE YEARS OLD. WHEREAS, Section 34090 'of the Government Code of the State of California authorizes the destruction of certain records of the City upon approval of the legislative body of the City, and with the written consent of the City Attorneyâ–º provided that said records do not fall within certain specified categories; and WHERE -AS, the following described documents in the pos- session of the Anaheim Finance Department are more than five years old and are documents which are authorized for destruction under the provisions of said Section 34090 of the Government Code without making a copy thereof; and WHEREAS, the Accounting Officer of the City of Anaheim has determined that said documents do not have sufficient value to justify retention; and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the determination of the Accounting Officer and finds the destruction of the rec- ords in the best interests of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim does by the approval of this resolution hereby give his written con- sent for the destruction of the listed records. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the Accounting Officer of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized to destroy immediately, in a lawful manner, the following described documents under his charge without making any copies thereof, to wit: 1. All paid warrants or checks and copies with copies of invoices and receiving documents - 15 years or older. 2. Daily cash receipt summaries and documents - 15 years or older. 3. Copies of purchase orders - 5 years or older. 4. Payroll time cards or sheets - 5 years or older. 5. Bank deposit slips - 5 years or older. 6. Material drawn from stock requisitions - 5 years or older. 7. Gas and oil consumption reports - 5 years or older. S. City invoice billings - 7 years or older. 9. Notice to bill copies - 7 years or older. 10. Miscellaneous correspondence - 5 years or older. -1- AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon destruction of the foregoing records, a certificate of destruction shall be executed and the original thereof filed in the office of the City Clerk together with a copy of this resolution.
