1976-100RESOLUTION NO. 76R-- 100 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY -~ OF ANAHEIM APPROVING. AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A LOCAL AGENCY -STATE MASTER AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO FEDERAL - AID URBAN SYSTEM PROJECTS IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND INCLUDING THE CITY OF ANAHEIM CIVIL RIGHTS ASSURANCES. WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has in the Federal -Aid Highway Act of 1970 declared it to be in the national interest for Federal Funds to be expended for highway and fringe parking projects on the Federal -Aid Urban System within urbanized areas; and WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacted Chapter 201 of the Statutes of 1971, by which the federal funds authorized may be made available for use on county highways, city streets, state highways and fringe parking in urbanized areas in accordance with the intent of the federal act; and WHEREAS, there exists a compelling need for improvement of streets and highways and fringe parking facilities within the boundaries of the City: of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the State of California therefore desire to make use of such FAU funds as may be made available within the jurisdictional boundaries of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, before Federal -Aid will be made available for FAU program, the City of Anaheim and the State of California are required to enter into an agreement relative to prosecution of the said project and maintenance of the completed facility; and WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Transportation, has submitted: to the City a form of Agreement relating to Federal -Aid Urban System Projects in the City of Anaheim including Civil Rights Assurances; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be for the benefit and in the best interests of the City to approve the proposed Agreement between the City of Anaheim and the State of California, Department of Transportation, and that the same should be approved; and WHEREAS, a specific project referred: to and described in Supplement Number 1 to Local Agency - State Agreement Number 10 has been proposed to be funded pursuant to this program. -1- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that said Agreement, including Civil Rights Assurances and said Supplement Number 1, this day submitted to the City Council to be made and entered: into between the City of Anaheim and the State of California, Department of Transportation, relating to Federal-Aid Urban System Projects in the City. of Anaheim be, and the same is hereby, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said Agreement and said Supplement for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
