A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AND THE CITY OF SANTA ANA RELATING TO THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ORANGE COUNTY BURGLARY
PREVENTION INDEX, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the City of
Santa Ana have previously agreed in principle to participate
with other cities in Orange County and with various County
of Orange Agencies to establish an Orange County Burglary
Prevention Index; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide timely, expeditious,
and available support .to the Orange County Burglary
Prevention Index members and interface with other law
enforcement agencies in the area of burglary information
collection, analysis and distribution, a coordinator's office
will be established and located in the Santa Ana Police
Department building; and
WHEREAS, said Agreement between the City of
Anaheim and the City of Santa Ana will become operative only
if and when the United States Department of Justice Law
Enforcement Assistance Administration and the State of
California provide certain funds for the operation of said
Program; and
WHEREAS, said Project has been approved for such
funding by the California Council on Criminal Justice; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be
for the benefit and in the best interests of the City to
approve the proposed Agreement between the City of Anaheim
and the City of Santa. Ana providing for the establishment of
an Orange County Burglary Prevention Index, upon the terms
and conditions set forth in said Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that said Agreement this day submitted
to the City Council to be made and entered into between the
City. of Anaheim and the City of Santa Ana relating to the
establishment of an Orange County Burglary Prevention Index,
upon the terms and conditions set forth in said Agreement be,.
and the same is hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City
Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said Agreement
on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
