1976-049RESOLUTION NO. 76R- 49 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF A14AHEIM RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 74R-476 AND ASSUMING THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENFORCE- MENT OF THE EMPLOYEE HOUSING ACT OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO LABOR CAMPS, AND DESIGNATING THE BUILDING DIVISION AND THE COUNTY OF ORANGE HEALTH DEPARTMENT AS THE ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FOR THE CITY PURSUANT TO SECTION 2640 OF THE LABOR CODE. WHEREAS, on the 24th day of September, 1974, the City Council did designate, by Resolution No. 74R-476, the City of Anaheim as the agency to assume responsibility for the enforcement of the Employee Housing Act in relation to Farm Labor Camps; and WHEREAS, Section 2640 of the Labor Code of the State of California Provides that the City of Anaheim may assume that responsibility; and WHEREAS, Section 2640 of the Labor Code has since been amended to delete the word "Farm" from the phrase "Farm Labor Camp"; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim to maintain uniform wording with Section 2640 of the Labor Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim to rescind Resolution No. 74R-476 and designate the City of Anaheim as the agency that assumes responsibility for the enforcement of the Employee Housing Act, and the Building Division of the City and the Orange County Health Department as the agency to perform said function in this City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that Resolution No. 74R-476 be, and the same is hereby rescinded; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim does hereby assume responsibility for the enforcement of the Employee Housing Act in relation to Labor Camps. AND., BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Building -cif vision of the City and the County of Orange Health:Depart- men-c,, by contract, are designated as the Enforcement Agency for this Act for the City of Anaheim.
