1976-011RESOLUTION NO. 76R-11 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DECLARING ITS INTENT TO CHARGE, CANDIDATES FOR THE COST OF PRINTING AND HAND- LING CANDIDATES STATEMTNTS OF QUALIFICATIONS AND ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES IN CONNECTION THEREWITH. WHEREAS, Section 10012.5 of the Elections Code pro- vides that candidates for elective office in a city may prepare a statement of qualifications to be filed when nominating papers are filed; and WHEREAS, said section further provides that the City Clerk shall send to each voter, together with a sample ballot, a voter's pamphlet which contains a written statement of each candidate's qualifications prepared pursuant to said section; and WHEREAS, said section provides that the local agency may bill each candidate availing himself of this service a sum not greater than the actual prorated cost of printing and hand- ling incurred by the agency as a result of providing said service; and WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore adopted Reso- lution No. 66R-47 declaring its intent to charge for the cost of printing and handling candidates statements; and WHEREAS, Section 10012.5 has been amended since the adoption of Resolution No. 66R-47. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the cost incurred by the City in printing, handling and translating the Candidates Statement of Qualifications shall be charged on a pro rata basis to the can- didates availing themselves of this service and the City Clerk is instructed to bill the candidates accordingly when said amounts are determined. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said bills are due and payable no later than seven (7) days after said bills are re- ceived by the candidate. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to send said bills by certified nail. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council finds and deter -mines that no materials, other than the voters pamphlet con- taining the candidates statement of qualifications shall be sent to voters with the sample ballot. -1- EE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 66R-47 be, and the same is hereby, rescinded.
