90-304 RESOLUTION NO. 90R- 304
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE RECOMMENDATIONS
OF THE KATELLA AVENUE SUPER STREET STUDY.
WHEREAS, the goals and objectives of the Katella Avenue
Super Street Project are to develop conceptual engineering plans,
an environmental checklist and a financing plan for the
implementation of high flow arterial improvements to Ratella
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, ~ Draft Final Report feasibility study has been
prepared for the Katella Avenue Super Street Project; and
WHEREAS, the improvements recommended for Katella Avenue
have been identified based on 1) improving traffic level of
service, Z) minimizing right-of-way acquisition, adverse
environmental impacts and economic impacts, and 3)
cost-effectiveness.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that:
1. The City Council of the City o£ Anaheim does express
its support for the designation of Katella Avenue as a Super
Street.
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim does hereby
support the undertaking and completion of studies and
environmental documentation to determine what steps should be
taken to upgrade Katella Avenue to "Super Street" status, and
approve, in concept, the improvements to upgrade Katella Avenue to
a Super Street, identified in the Draft Final Report.
3. The City Council of the City of Anaheim does hereby
express its intention to adopt an ordinance to prohibit on-street
parking on Katella Avenue in the City of Anaheim after the
completion of the Super Street improvements.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 14thday of August, 1990.
