1976-328RESOLUTION NO. 76R__ 328 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF A JOINT POWERS AGREEME14T BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, THE CITY OF GARDEN GROVE AND THE CITY OF STANTON RELATING TO PARTICIPATION IN A JUVENILE DIVERSION/TREATMENT PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the United States CongressbyPublic Law 93-83 passed the Crime Control Act of 1973 whereby certain funds were made available to help in the area of administration of justice and prevention of crime; and WHEREAS.,,funds have been allocated to the State of California which in turn has made said funds available under the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP) to various communities in the state; and WHEREAS., the City of Garden Grove has filed an application with the Orange County Criminal Justice Council dated January 16, 1976, requesting certain funds pursuant to Public Law 93-83-' and WHEREAS, in order to carry out the provisions and programs delineated in the application filed by the' City of Garden Grove, it is necessary for the City of Anaheim, the City of Garden Grove and the City of Stanton to enter into a contract relating to services to be provided.,,funds to be allocated and the formula to be. applied in carrying out the purposes designated in said application; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to participate with the City- of Garden Grove and the City of Stanton in said Juvenile Diversion/Treatment-Program; and WHEREAS, theCityCouncil finds that it would be for the benefit and in the best interests of the City to approve the proposed Joint Powers Agreement between the City of Anaheim, the City of Garden Grove and the City of Stanton providing for participation of the City of Anaheim in said Juvenile Diversion/Treatment-Program, upon the terms and conditions set forth in said Agreement. NOW, THERE -FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that said Joint Powers Agreement this day submitted to the City Council to be made and entered into between the City of Anaheim, the City of Garden Grove and the City of Stanton relating to participation in the Juvenile Diversion/Treatment Program upon the terms and conditions set forth in said Agreement be, and the same is hereby, approved. -1- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said Agreement on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
