1976-196RESOLUTION NO. 76R-196 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED UP TO THE HOUR OF 2:00 P.M. ON THE 8TH DAY OF APRIL 19761 FOR THE TWILA REID PARK PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT CONSTRUCTION', AND READVERTISING THE OPENING OF BIDS THEREON., WORK ORDER NO. 812. WHEREAS, heretofore, to wit, on the 16th day of March, 1976, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did adopt Resolution No. 76R-124 finding and determining that public convenience and necessity required the construction and com- pletion of the Twila Reid Park Playground Equipment Construc- tion; and WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and direct the City Clerk to publish a notice according to law inviting sealed proposals for the above-mentioned public improvement and fixing the 8th day of April, 1976, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., as the date and hour for the opening of said bids in the Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, upon said 8th day of April, 1976, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., the City Clerk and City Engineer did open the bids received up to that hour, in public, in the City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, and the City Engineer did review the bids so received and did report the results thereof to the City Council at its regular meeting held on the 13th day of April, 1976; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the bids received are in excess of the estimate of the City Engineer of the cost of said public improvement and are not representative of actual construction costs; that said bids should be rejected; and that said job should be readvertised at a later date; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interests of the City of Anaheim to readvertise the opening of bids for the following described public improvement: Twila Reid Park playground equipment construction, in the City of Anaheim, consisting of the construction and the installation of all play equipment; all excavation necessary for the installation of all play equipment indicated on the plans; all concrete reqLAked for pour into footings indicated on the plans; and all other appurtenant work in accordance with the plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City Engineer, Work Order No. 812. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the bids received up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on April 8, 1976, reviewed by the City Engineer and submitted to the City Council on April 13, 1976, be rejected and the above-mentioned public improvement be readvertised as follows: 1. That the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals shall be published on April 15 and 22, 1976. 2. That the opening of the bids shall be on April 29, 1976. 3. That the award of the contract will be on May 4, 1976. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me this 13th day of April, 1976.
