RESOLUTION NO. 76R-650
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM OPPOSING ANY NEW STUDY BY INTER -
COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY WITH RESPECT TO A
NEW AIRPORT IN ORANGE COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the Inter -County Airport Authority has been
in existence for approximately five (5) years; and
WHEREAS, previous studies by the Inter -County Airport
Authority indicate a lack of objectivity; and
WHEREAS, the Inter -County Airport Authority has no
right to serve as instrumentalities of all the cities of Orange
County; and
WHEREAS, prior studies of the Inter -County Airport
Authority have failed to examine the real regional aviation needs;
and
WHEREAS, environmental consequences of a new airport
would create havoc in the North Orange County area; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors joined
in the creation of a Southern California Airport Authority to
study regional needs for an airport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that it does hereby go on record that it op-
poses any new study by the Inter -County Airport Authority regard-
ing a new airport in Orange County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that the City Clerk be, and is hereby_, instructed to
forward copies of this Resolution to the Orange County Board of
Supervisors and all the cities in the County of Orange.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 12th day of October, 1976.
