A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY C04NCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMI~ING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE ~D NECESSITY REQU RE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC MPROVEMENT, TO WIT:

APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLAN , PROFILES, 0 WINGS
AND SPECIFl;CATIONS FOR THE ONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTIO~ OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WIT~ SAID PLANS, SPECI-
FICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A ~OTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CO~STRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience ,and necessity require the
construction and completion of a publi!c improvement in the City
of Anaheim, to wit:
The improvement of Imperial Highway - Santa Ana Canyon Road
to approximately 604 feet south ot; Santa Ana Canyon Road -from
approximately 345 feet east of to approximately 374 feet west
of Imperial Highway, in the City Of Anaheim, consisting of
excavation; import borrow; constr~ction of P.C.C. curb and
gutter, curb and median island sl4b; construction of asphalt
concrete over aggregate base; con~truction of asphalt concrete
berm; relocation of traffic signals; removal of miscellaneous
items; and appurtenant work as more particularly set forth in
the plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City
Clerk or City Engineer, Work Order No. 670-B.

AND WHEREAS, the City Counci:l instructed the
Department of Public Works tb prepare detailed !esifns,
plana, proti1es, drawings and specifi~ations, and estimates of
quantities and ~osts a~d ~ake necessa~ surveys for the con-
struction of sa~d publ~c ~mprovement;and
WHEREAS, said Department o~ Pub~ic Works has
prepared said detailed designs, J?lans,i prc:>files,. dr~wings and
specifications for the construct10n or sa~d publ~c ~mprovement
aDd has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council fi~ds that the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings an~ sJ?ecifications fc:>r said
public improvement above mentioned, a~ ~n accordance w1th good
engineering practice and are adequate ito serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim a~ the citizens and

residents in said area for the purpos,s for which they are
intended, and that they are adequate for the construction of
said public improvement and should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESO~VED by the City Council of
the ~ity of Anaheim that the detailedldesigns, plans, profiles,
draw1ngs and specifications for said ~ublic improvement herein-
above mentioned and described, be, an4 the same are hereby,
approved and adopted as prepared by s.id Department of
Public WOrks . ---

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVEDithat said public improvement
shall be constructed in accordance wi~h said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifi~ations as prepared by said
ar t of P lie Works' and hereby
approved, and such addenda or modifictions theretO as may be
approved prior to the awarding of bid$ therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED thal the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, autijorized and directed to
publish a notice according to law, intiting sealed proposals for
the furnishing of all plant, labor, s~rvices, ma~rials and
equipment, and all utilities and tran~portati.on., inclU4ing power,
fuel and water, and performing all wo~k necessary to eonstruct
and complete, in a good and workmanli~e manner, in strict aacor-
dance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications as prepared by said.~. par~~er?l Ef ~l~~. l._

tioned and described, and fixing the ~5th day of ~,
19 73 , at the hour of 2: 00 o' clock P.M. as the date and. '!iour-----
for-tne opening of said bids at the City Council Chamber in the
City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be
published twice, the first of which publications shall be at
leaat ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of
bids, and that said publications shall be at least five (5) days
apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder
or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the
City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City
Attorney of the City of Anaheim for t~e construction, installa-
tion and completion of said public improvemertt hereinabove
mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans and speci-
fications prepared by said -.Dep~~~~~~ of ~vb~~o ijprks
, -Ene not1c~ invit1ng sealea proposals,
this resolution and all applicable City Ordinances or Code
Sections and the laws of the State of California, and shall be
required to post bonds and insurance in the amounts and within
the time required by law, as specified in the notice inviting
sealed proposals, and in a form appro~ed by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
