RESOLUTION NO. 76R-560
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED ON REBID
3099 FOR METAL -CLAD SWITCHGEAR EQUIPMENT FOR
YORBA SUBSTATION, AND DIRECTING THAT FORMAL
BIDS BE RECEIVED PURSUANT TO SECTION 1211 OF
THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the provisions of City of Anaheim Charter
Section 1211 outline certain requirements with respect to
bidding procedures for contracts on public works; and
WHEREAS, said Section 1211 provides, among; other
things, that projects for the extension, replacement or
expansion of the transmission or distribution system of any
existing public utility operated by the City for the purchase
of supplies, or equipment for any such project or any such
utility, may be excepted from the requirements of said
Section 1211 by the affirmative vote of a majority of the
total members of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, heretofore, pursuant to Rebid No. 3099,
the City of Anaheim did receive sealed bids for the purchase
of certain 13.8 kV Metal -Clad Switchgear Equipment for Yorba
Substation; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1211 of the Anaheim
Charter, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has deter-
mined that such purchase should not be excepted from the
formal bidding procedures provided for in said Charter Section
1211; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City. of Anaheim
pursuant to said Charter Section 1211 finds and determines
that all bids received on said Rebid No. 3099 should be
rejected and that bids for the purchase by the City of Anaheim.
of said Metal -Clad Switchgear Equipment for the Yorba Sub-
station should be advertised and received pursuant to the
formal bidding provisions of said Charter Section 1211.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that all bids received in connection
with Rebid No. 3099 for Metal -Clad Switchgear Equipment for
Yorba Substation be, and the same are, hereby rejected.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that bids for the purchase of
said Mletal-Clad Switchgear Equipment for the Yorba Substation
be advertised and received pursuant to the formal bidding
provisions of Section 1211 of the Charter of the City of
Anaheim.
