RESOLUTION 73R-~46
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY qOUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING ~ FINANCE DIRECTOR
TO SETTLE, CERTAIN UTILITY ~COUNTS IN AN
AMOUNT LESS THAN THE PULL ~UNT OWING ON
SAID ACCOUNT.
WHEREAS, the City of Anahe~ has an agreement with
Transcontinental Credit Service wher~in the City turns Over to
said agency certain utility accounts I for collection after the
City has been unable to collect the ~unts still owing on
said utility accounts; and
WHEREAS, Transcontinental ~redit Service has, on
occasion, requested the City to accept less than the full amount
owing on said utility accounts; and
WHEREAs, acceptance of amo~ts less than the full
amount due and owing on said utility; accounts sOlOet1mes results
in collection where otherwise no co11ection could beo~;i.ned;
and . j.
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City in
certain instances to accept such set~lement Offers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOJl,VED by th:~ City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the Finance Director be, and he is hereby
authorized to accept offers to settle utility aCcQunts on the
following conditions:
1. Said utility account has been turned over to
Transcontinental Credit Service for collection.
2. The full amount of the bill is $500.00 or less.
3. The Finance Director believes that under the
circumstances, the settlement offer will result in
collection of funds when not accepting the settlement
offer may result in collection of no funds oh the Unpaid
utility account.
4. The City Attorney approves the proposed
settlement.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved'.'and signed by,me
this 10th day of April, 1973.
