1977-518WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is in need of an
extension to the Man -in- Washington Program which provides
for a lobbyist for the City; and
WHEREAS, the National Center for Municipal
Development is able to continue to provide for said service;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Fountain Valley wishes to
join with the Cities of Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Fullerton,
Garden Grove and Santa Ana, which cities contracted for said
service which expired on June 30, 1977; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of contracting for the
services of a Man -in- Washington is to provide the Cities
above with representation before Congress, executive agencies
and administrative agencies of the Federal Government; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared whereby the
National Center for Municipal Development will continue to
provide such representation for the Cities above from July 1,
1977 to June 30, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of said agreement
are acceptable to the City Council of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the terms and
conditions of said agreement are hereby accepted and approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said
agreement on behalf of the City Council of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 19th day of July 1977.
