A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF AN ADDENDUM TO AN AGREEMENT FOR A ONE -YEAR
EXTENSION OF THE MAN -IN- WASHINGTON LOBBYIST
PROGRAM PROVIDING FOR THE ENTRY OF THE CITY
OF FOUNTAIN VALLEY INTO THE CONSORTIUM OF
CITIES WHICH INCLUDES ANAHEIM AND WHICH CON-
TRACTS WITH THE LOBBYIST.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is in need of an
extension to the Man -in- Washington Program which provides
for a lobbyist for the City; and
WHEREAS, the National Center for Municipal
Development is able to continue to provide for said service;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Fountain Valley wishes to
join with the Cities of Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Fullerton,
Garden Grove and Santa Ana, which cities contracted for said
service which expired on June 30, 1977; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of contracting for the
services of a Man -in- Washington is to provide the Cities
above with representation before Congress, executive agencies
and administrative agencies of the Federal Government; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared together
with a proposed resolution which are considered herewith
whereby the National Center for Municipal Development will
continue to provide such representation for the Cities above
from July 1, 1977 to June 30, 1978; and
WHEREAS, an addendum to the agreement has been
prepared whereby the City of Fountain Valley will be permitted
to join with the Cities mentioned above in contracting with
the National Center for Municipal Development; and
WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of said addendum
to the agreement are acceptable to the City Council of the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the terms and
conditions of said addendum to the agreement are hereby
accepted and approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said
addendum to the agreement on behalf of the City Council of the
City of Anaheim.
