A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
GENERAL PLAN DESIGNATED AS AMENDMENT NO. 143,
EXHIBIT "D" AND ADDING A SAFETY ELEMENT TO
SAID GENERAL PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, pursuant to the recommenda-
tions of the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim, adopted a
General Plan for the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of June, 1977, the City Planning
Commission of the City of Anaheim did hold a public hearing to con-
sider a General Plan Amendment. The General Plan Amendment does
consider the following:
1. The addition of a Safety Element to the General Plan; and
2. Changing the land use designation for the property loca-
ted adjacent to the southwest corner of Lincoln Avenue and Rio Vista
Street, extending westerly to the Orange (57) Freeway, in accordance
with exhibits presented to the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the City Planning Commis-
sion did duly adopt its Resolution No. PC77 -136 containing a report
of its findings, a summary of the evidence presented at said hearing,
and a recommendation that said Amendment to the General Plan desig-
nated as Amendment No. 143 be adopted by the City Council, changing
the land use designation for the aforedescribed area in accordance
with Exhibit "D," and adding a Safety Element as set forth in said
Resolution PC77 -136; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of said Resolution, summary of evi-
dence, report of findings and recommendations of the City Planning
Commission, the City Council did fix the 12th day of July, 1977, as
the time, and the City Council Chamber in the City Hall as the place
for a public hearing on said proposed Amendment No. 143 and did give
notice thereof in the manner and as provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such
public hearing and did give all persons interested therein an oppor-
tunity to be heard, and did receive evidence and reports and did
consider the recommendations of the City Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
Amendment No. 143 changing the land use designations in the afore
described area in accordance with Exhibit "D" on file with the City
should be approved and the addition of a Safety Element as recom-
mended by the Planning Commission in Resolution No. PC77 -136 should
be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that Amendment No. 143 to the General Plan changing
the land use designation for the aforedescribed area in accordance
with Exhibit "B" on file with the City be, and the same is hereby,
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, as a part of said Amendment No.
143, that the Safety Element as recommended by the Planning Commis-
sion in Resolution No. PC77 -136 be, and the same is hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Department be, and
it is hereby, instructed to amend the General Plan Map to conform to
General Plan Amendment No. 143, as herein adopted and approved.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 12th day of July, 19x7.
