WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to sponsor an
Emergency Housing Assistance Program to provide short term
emergency shelter to disadvantaged City residents; and
WHEREAS, the City has applied for and been granted
funds by the United States Government through Title I of the
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 to finance
said housing program; and
WHEREAS, S.M.C. Motor Inn, Inc., dba Sandman Motel,
has facilities to provide the short term emergency shelter
required by said program and is qualified and willing to
utilize said facilities to provide shelter to those persons
referred by the City; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared for such
services, the terms and conditions of which are satisfactory
to the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the terms and conditions of an
agreement between the City of Anaheim and S M. C Motor Inn, Inc.,
dba Sandman Motel, for the furnishing of emergency shelter as
requested by the City be, and the same is hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 5th day of July 1977.
