1977-397RESOLUTION NO. 77R -397 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ORDERING THE VACATION AND ABANDON MENT OF WASSER ROAD AND TAFT AVENUE. (76 -14A) WHEREAS, the City Council did, by resolution duly posted and published, give notice of its intention to vacate and abandon Wasser Road and Taft Avenue; and WHEREAS, on the 24th day of May, 1977, a public hearing was held to allow interested persons to submit evidence concerning said proposed abandonment; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find, from the evidence submitted, that Wasser Road and Taft Avenue, hereinafter specifically described, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes; and WHEREAS, the City Council does determine that the public convenience and necessity require the reservation and exception of the easement(s) and right(s) of way also hereinafter specifically described. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Anaheim does hereby order the vacation and abandonment of Wasser Road and Taft Avenue located generally between Cerritos Avenue and Ball Road described as follows: PARCEL 1: That portion of Wasser Road and Taft Avenue, both 40 -foot wide streets, located in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, lying within that portion of the North half of Section 24, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, in the Rancho San Juan Cajon de Santa Ana, as shown on a map recorded in Book 2, pages 256 and 257 of Patents, Records of Los Angeles County, California, lying 20 feet of each side of the following described centerlines: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of Wasser Road and Taft Avenue as described in deed recorded in Book 852, page 82 of Official Records and shown on Map attached thereto; thence Southerly along the centerline of said Wasser Road S 15° 46' 31" E, 1463 feet, more or less, to an intersection with the northerly right of way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad, said point of intersection being -1- 76 -14A the point of terminus of the centerline of Wasser Road herein described. The sidelines of said 40 -foot right of way of Wasser Road to be extended as necessary to terminate in the northerly right of way line of said Southern Pacific Railroad; thence also beginning at the intersection of said Wasser Road and Taft Avenue easterly along the centerline of said Taft Avenue S 89° 32' 37" E, 178 feet, more or less, to the westerly right of way line of State Highway 57, more commonly known as the Orange Freeway, the sidelines shall be extended as necessary to intersect said westerly right of way line, said intersection being the point of terminus of the centerline of Taft Avenue herein described. PARCEL 2: That portion of the cul -de -sac area of said Wasser Road, described as follows: Beginning at the centerline intersection of Wasser Road, 40.00 feet wide, with the centerline of Taft Avenue, 40.00 feet wide, as said centerlines are described in deed recorded in Book 852, page 82, Official Records, as shown on the map attached there- to; thence along the centerline of said Wasser Road S 16 23' 44" W, 113.01 feet; thence S 73° 36' 16" E, 20.00 feet to an intersection with a line parallel with and 20.00 feet east of the centerline of said Wasser Road, said point of intersection being the beginning of a curve concave southeasterly having a radius of 150.00 feet; thence Northeasterly along said curve from a tangent which bears N 16 23' 44" E through an angle of 41 11' 10" an arc distance of 107.83 feet to a tangent curve concave northwesterly having a radius of 44.00 feet; thence Northeasterly along said last mentioned curve through an angle of 47 12' 14" an arc distance of 36.25 feet to an intersection with said centerline of Taft Avenue, a radial line bearing S 80° 14' 26" W passes through said point of intersection being the beginning of a curve concave westerly and having a radius of 44 feet; thence Northerly along said curve through a central angle of 26° 19' 06" an arc distance of 20.21 feet to an intersection with a line parallel with and 20.00 feet north of the centerline of said Taft Avenue, said point of intersection being the begin- ning of a curve concave southerly and having a radius of 44 feet, a radial line bearing N 73 26' 28" E passes through said point; thence Northerly, North- westerly, Westerly and Southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of 147° 12' 36" an arc distance -2- of 113.05 feet to an intersection with a line parallel with and 20.00 feet north of the centerline of said Taft Avenue, said point of intersection being the beginning of a curve concave southeasterly and having a radius of 44 feet, a radial line bearing N 73 46' 08" W passes through said point; thence southerly along said curve through a central angle of 00 27' 21" an arc distance of 0.35 feet to a point, a radial line bearing N 74 13' 29" W passes through said point; thence S 15° 46' 31" W, 20.45 feet to an intersection with the centerline of said Taft Avenue; thence N 89 50' 10" E, 20.80 feet to the point of beginning. RESERVING THEREFROM said Parcels 1 and 2 unto the City of Anaheim an easement for public utility purposes, over, under and across the easterly 30 feet of the South half of said Taft Avenue. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a certified copy of this Resolution and Order, attested by her under the seal of the City of Anaheim to be recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of Orange County, California.
