A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF
MUNICIPAL LAW OFFICERS (NIMLO) FOR LITIGATION
EXPENSES INVOLVING FEDERAL UNEMPLOYMENT
COMPENSATION LAWS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has adopted Federal
Unemployment Compensation Amendments, Public Law No. 94 -566,
and related Acts and Regulations which are made applicable to
public agencies, including municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the National Institute of Municipal Law
Officers (hereafter "NIMLO has agreed to employ counsel to
challenge the constitutionality of the aforesaid laws on
behalf of those public agencies financially supporting such
action; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has determined that it
is in the public interest and welfare for the City to
financially support said litigation; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been prepared and submitted
whereby the City will pay $7,500 to the NIMLO Federal Unemploy-
ment Compensation Tax Litigation Trust Fund to support said
litigation; and
WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of said agreement
are acceptable to the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the terms and conditions of said
agreement between the City of Anaheim and NI±'✓ILO for litigation
expenses more particularly described in said agreement be, and
the same are hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute
said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and approved by
