A RESOLUTION OF TIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE FILING OF AN APPLICA-
TION FOR FUNDS PURSUANT TO THE LIN:Er.o=1:TAL
EDUCATION GRANT PROGRAR AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY nANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID APPLICATION ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the State of California, pursuant to Education
Code Sections 8750-8754, has authorized and established an Environ-
mental Education Grant Program through the Department of Education
to provide grant funds to local agencies to develop and promote
environmental studies and education; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, through its Parks, Recre-
ation and Arts Department, is proposing to offer an interpretive
Nature Program at Oak Canyon Nature Center and at all local schools
and needs to purchase a passenger van and a 4,000 watt generator
for use in conjunction with the City's Nature Mobile to fully im-
plement said Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to submit an appli-
cation for Environmental Education Grant Program funds in the
amount of $8,682 to purchase the aforesaid equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim does hereby approve the filing of an application
with the State of California Department of Education for funds pur-
suant to the Environmental Education Grant Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City
of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized as agent of the City
to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents in-
cluding, but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments
and assurances which may be necessary to obtain said funds and com-
plete said project.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 25th day of OCA:ober
1977.
