A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF
CERTAIN CITY RECORDS, DOCUMENTS, INSTRUMENTS,
BOOKS AND PAPERS MORE THAN TWO YEARS OLD.
WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code of
the State of California authorizes the destruction of
records, documents, instruments, books and papers (herein-
after "records which are no longer required or needed by
the City, upon approval of the City Council and with the
written consent of the City Attorney, provided that said
records do not fall within certain specified categories;
and
WHEREAS, the following described records in the
possession of the Utility Account Manager of the City of
Anaheim are records more than two years old and are documents
which are authorized for destruction under the provisions
of said Section 34090 of the Government Code without making
a copy thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Utility Account Manager of the City
of Anaheim has determined that said records are no longer
needed or required by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the determin-
ation of the Utility Account Manager and finds the destruction
of the records in the best interests of the City of Anaheim;
and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim
does by the approval of this Resolution hereby give his
written consent for the destruction of the records herein
specified.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of .Anaheim that the Utility Account Manager of the
City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized to immediately
destroy, in a lawful manner, the following described documents
under his charge without making any copies thereof, to wit:
1. Bimonthly utility bill registers from January,
1970 through December, 1971;
2. Monthly utility bill registers from January,
1970 through December, 1971;

3. Closing utility bill registers from January,
1963 through December, 1971;
4. Billing analysis from June, 1967 through December,
1971;
5. Daily cash registers from January, 1970 through
December, 1971;
6. Accounts receivable listings
through December, 1971;
7. Payment stubs from January,
1971;
8. "On and Off" applications for utility service from
January, 1965 through December, 1971;

1963 through December
9. Copies of meter record books from January, 1970
through December, 1971;
10. Various miscellaneous correspondence, including
memoranda and requests for utility service, dated
on or before December 31, 1971
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon destruction of
the foregoing records, a certificate of destruction shall be
executed and the original thereof filed in the office of the
City Clerk together with a copy of this resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 11th day of
Octciber 1977
