1977-623RESOLUTION NO. 77R- 62 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CITY RECORDS, DOCUMENTS, INSTRUMENTS, BOOKS AND PAPERS MORE THAN TWO YEARS OLD. WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California authorizes the destruction of records, documents, instruments, books and papers (herein- after "records which are no longer required or needed by the City, upon approval of the City Council and with the written consent of the City Attorney, provided that said records do not fall within certain specified categories; and WHEREAS, the following described records in the possession of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim are records more than two years old and are documents which are authorized for destruction under the provisions of said Section 34090 of the Government Code without making a copy thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim has determined that said records are no longer needed or required by the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the determina- tion of the City Clerk and finds the destruction of the records in the best interests of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim does by the approval of this Resolution hereby give his written consent for the destruction of the records herein specified. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized to immediately destroy, in a lawful manner, the following described documents under her charge without making any copies thereof, to wit: 1. All applications, permits, and insurance forms and certificates for Christmas tree lots from 1965 through 1974; 2. All affidavits of ordinance publications received from newspapers from 1958 through 1974; -1- 3. All applications, permits, and insurance forms and certificates for fireworks stands from 1965 through 1974; 4. Weed abatement records and materials including computer printouts of weed assessment rolls from 1971 through 1973 (CA 11); 5. Papers and memoranda regarding City Council authorization for transfer of funds and lists of uncollectable accounts from 1960 through 1974 (CA -15); 6. City Council invitations to various events from 1960 through 1974 (CA -41); 7. Lists of physical property inventories and correspondence pertaining thereto for years 1960 and 1961 (CA -42); 8. Duplicate copies (excluding originals) of City Council resolutions of endorsement and support of various actions, measures and events and all correspondence (both originals and copies) pertain- ing thereto from 1960 through 1974 (CA -51); 9. Papers and documents received by the City relating to incorporations of various other area cities from 1960 through 1965 (CA -94); 10. Duplicate copies of resolutions and miscellaneous correspondence to Public Utilities Commission relating to water meter installation in Orange County from 1959 through 1961 (CA 77); 11. Documents relating to designation of Orange County as a Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area for the year 1963 (CA -37); 12. Documents, papers and memoranda relating to proposed establishment of landscaping and setback policy in commercial recreation area from 1964 and 1965 (CA -35); 13. City Council Proclamations from 1960 through 1969, and 197 14. Duplicate copies (excluding originals) of ordinances and resolutions relating to joint use of swimming pools with school districts from 1965 through 1974); -2- 15. Duplicate copies (excluding originals) of former grading and excavation ordinances and correspondence pertaining thereto; copies of resolutions from other cities relating to underground utilities and correspondence pertaining thereto from 1961 through 1974 (CA -20); 16. Documents, papers and correspondence from State Water Resources relating to water conservation rates and the Dyke Water Company from 1960 through 1974 (CA -13); 17. Documents, papers and correspondence relating to special requests for exhibits, tents and booths for churches and charitable organizations from 1960 through 1974 (CA -22); 18. Documents, papers, correspondence, requests, permits, memoranda and maps relating to house moving permits from 1960 through 1962, 1972 through 1974 (CA -43); 19. Public fireworks display permits, copies of resolutions of commendation, resolutions from other cities, correspondence and memoranda relating to Disneyland from 1960 through 1974 (CA -50); 20. Documents, letters and copies of resolutions from other cities commending the City of Anaheim from 1960 through 1974 (CA -53); 21. Applications of Dyke Water Company to Public Utility Commission for rate increases and correspondence pertaining thereto from 1957 through 1968 (CA -100); 22. Form letters received by City in 1972 protesting lack of library services; 23. Form letters received by City prior to January 1, 1975, in support of establishment of the Scenic Corridor Overlay Zone; 24. Bankruptcy notices received in 1960 (CA -67); 25. Duplicate copies (excluding originals) of resolu- tions authorizing City officers to execute certain agreements from time to time from 1961 through 1972 (CA -68); -3- 26. Documents, papers and correspondence sent to City with general annexation information and letters received regarding possible City annexations from 1960 through 1974 (CA -70); 27. Complaints, petitions and papers regarding Animal Control Services from 1960 through 1974 (CA -72); 28. Copies of legislation received from other political jurisdictions and the State from 1962 through 1974 (CA -74); 29. Documents, papers, memoranda and correspondence relating to Orange County Mosquito Abatement District, copy of resolution approving annexation to District, minutes of District meetings, appointments to District, and dissolution of District from 1965 through 1974 (CA -75); 30. Documents, papers and correspondence relating to Orange County Pump Tax from 1960 and 1961 (CA -76); 31. Sealed unused and voted ballots for employee organization elections from 1962 through 1974 (CA -78); 32. Documents, papers and correspondence relating to Anaheim Centennial from 1968 through 1972 (CA -79); 33. Reports, survey, brochures, booklets, papers and correspondence relating to Chamber of Commerce, Miss Anaheim Pageant, and Halloween Festivals from 1960 through 1974 (CA -81); and 34. Documents, papers and correspondence relating to Anaheim Junior Chamber of Commerce from 1960 through 1969 (CA -82). AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon destruction of the foregoing records, a certificate of destruction shall be executed and the original thereof filed in the office of the City Clerk together with a copy of this resolution.
