A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE STATE ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FOR FUNDS PURSUANT TO THE
NEJEDLY -HART STATE, URBAN AND COASTAL BOND ACT
OF 1976 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE THE NECESSARY APPLICATION
DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California
have enacted the State, Urban and Coastal Park Bond Act of
1976 (hereinafter "Act which provides funds to the State
of California and its political subdivisions for acauiring
and developing facilities for public recreation and
historical purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has allocated
certain funds made available by said Act to each county
within the State for distribution and sharing with the
political subdivisions within each of said counties; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has heretofore entered
into a joint powers agreement with the Orange Unified School
District for the joint use and maintenance of a 5.3 acre
sports field at Peralta Canyon Park within said City (herein
after "sports field and
WHEREAS, both the City of Anaheim and the Orange
Unified School District desire, and it is in the public
interest and welfare, to install and maintain electrical
lighting at said sports field which project qualifies for
funding within the meaning of said Act; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange is reouired to submit
an application for said funds to the State of California
which application must contain certain assurances by the City
of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Anaheim hereby:
1. Authorizes the County of Orange to file an
application on behalf of the City for State
grant assistance funds pursuant to the
Nejedly -Hart State, Urban and Coastal Bond
Act of 1976; and

2. Certifies that the City understands the
assurances in the application; and
3. Certifies that the City has or will have
sufficient funds to operate and maintain
the project; and
u. Appoints the City Manager as agent for the
City to conduct all negotiations, execute
and submit all documents including but not
limited to applications, agreements,
amendments and payment requests which may
be necessary for completion of said project.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this day of September 1977.
