1977-152RESOLUTION NO. 77R- 152 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM SETTING FORTH LOCAL CONDITIONS JUSTIFYING AMENDMENTS TO THE UNIFORM PLUM3B- ING CODE, 1976 EDITION. WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 17958.5 provides for the City to make changes or modifications in the Uniform Plumb- ing Code, 1976 Edition, as are reasonably necessary because of local conditions; and WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 17958.7 requires the City Council to make express findings of the necessity for mod- ifications in the Uniform Plumbing Code before adopting such changes; and WHEREAS, the Chief Building Inspector of the City of Ana- heim has recommended that the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1976 Edition, be adopted by the City with certain modifications and amendments which are required by local conditions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the modifications to the Uniform Plumbing Code, recommended by the Chief Building Inspector, are hereby expressly found to be necessary on account of local conditions as follows: Sections 15.20.001 through 15.20.050 of the Anaheim Municipal Code. These amendments are administrative in nature and adopt the 1976 Uniform Plumbing Code by reference as well as make it compatible with other codes enforced by the City of Anaheim. Section 15.20.910 of the Anaheim Municipal Code. This amendment requires that all kitchen and food processing facilities be provided with garbage disposals. The reason for this amendment is that the Sanitation Division of the City of Anaheim does not provide pick up of wet garbage. Section 15.20.1008 of the Anaheim Municipal Code. This amendment prohibits the use of galvanized iron pipe in or under a concrete floor slab within a building. The reason for this is that native soils in many areas of the City have high alkalinity and are corrosive to galvanized iron pipe. Section 15.20.2000 of the Anaheim Municipal Code. This amendment prohibits pool equipment from being located in a side or front yard and is in conformance with local zoning regulations. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution, together with the Ordinance adopting the Uniform Plumbing Code as amended, be filed with the State Department of Housing and Community Development. this 1st ATTEST: THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by4rle day of Marrh 1977.
