A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE INVITATION
FOR SEALED PROPOSALS, TO WIT:
13.8 kV METAL -CLAD SWITCHGEAR FOR YORBA
SUBSTATION, IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM,
WORK ORDER NO. 6395;
APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS, DRAWINGS AND
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE EQUIPMENT THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SAID PUBLIC UTILITY
EXTENSION IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI-
FICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE PURCHASE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
purchase and completion of a public improvement in the City of
Anaheim, to wit:
13.8 kV SWITCHGEAR ASSEMBLY COMPOSED OF SWITCHES,
INTERRUPTING DEVICES, CONTROL EQUIPMENT, INSTRU-
MENTATION AND METERING EQUIPMENT, PROTECTIVE
EQUIPMENT, ENCLOSED BUS AND OUTDOOR METAL -CLAD
HOUSING FOR CONTAINMENT OF ALL SPECIFIED APPARATUS,
FOR DELIVERY TO THE CITY'S YORBA ELECTRICAL SUB-
STATION, IN COMPLIANCE AND ACCORDANCE WITH CITY
OF ANAHEIM SPECIFICATION NO. E- 30 -76 -B.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Electrical
Superintendent to prepare detailed designs, plans, drawings and
specifications, and estimates of quantities and costs and take
necessary actions for the purchase of said public extension; and
WHEREAS, said Electrical Superintendent has prepared
said detailed designs, plans, drawings and specifications for
the purchase of said public extension and has submitted the same
to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said detailed
designs, plans, drawings and specifications for said public
extension above mentioned, are in accordance with good engineering
practice and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements of
the City of Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area
for the purposes, for which they are intended, and that they are
adequate for the purchase of said public extension and should le
approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, drawings
and specifications for said public extension hereinabove mentioned
and described be, and the same are hereby approved and adopted as
prepared by said Electrical Superintendent.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public extension
shall be purchased in accordance with said detailed designs, plans,
drawings and specifications as prepared by said Electrical
Superintendent and hereby approved, and such addenda or modifica-
tions thereto as may be approved prior to the awarding of bids
therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to publish
a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the
furnishing of all materials and equipment, and performing all
work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and workman-
like manner, in strict accordance with said detailed designs,
plans, drawings and specifications as prepared by said Electrical
Superintendent, the public extension hereinabove mentioned and
described, and fixing the 31st day of March, 1977, at the hour
of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the opening of
said bids at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall in the
City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be published twice,
the first of which publications shall be at least ten (10) days
prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids, and that said
publications shall be least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder
or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the
City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney
of the City of Anaheim for the construction and completion of said
public extension hereinabove mentioned and described, in accordance
with the plans and specifications prepared by said Electrical
Superintendent, the notice inviting sealed proposals, this
resolution and all applicable City. Ordinances or Code Sections
and the laws of the State of California, and shall be required
to post bonds and insurance in the amounts and within the time
required by law, as specified in the notice inviting sealed
proposals, and in a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signp by me
this 22nd day of February, 1977.
