A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DENYING VARIANCE NO. 2881.
WHEREAS, after a request for variance by JOSEPH P. and
GLADYS E. GLEASON, owners, was received, a public hearing before
the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim was held upon due
and proper notice, a result of which Variance No. 2881 was granted,
in part, covering the following described property:
THAT PORTION OF THE EAST ONE -HALF OF THE NORTHWEST
QUARTER OF SECTION 23, TOWNSHIP 4 SOUTH, RANGE 11
WEST, S.B.B. M., MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS
FOLLOWS:
BEGINNING AT A POINT IN THE NORTH LINE OF SAID
SECTION 23, TOWNSHIP 4 SOUTH, RANGE 11 WEST, WHICH
IS DISTANT EASTERLY, MEASURED ALONG SAID NORTH LINE,
663.12 FEET FROM THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID SEC-
TION 23, AND RUNNING THENCE FROM SAID POINT OF BE-
GINNING, EASTERLY, ALONG SAID NORTH LINE OF SAID
SECTION 23, 238.10 FEET TO A POINT; THENCE SOUTH-
ERLY, PARALLEL WITH THE WEST LINE OF THE EAST ONE
HALF OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF THE NORTHWEST
QUARTER OF SAID SECTION, 864.75 FEET TO A POINT IN
THE NORTHEASTERLY LINE OF THE RIGHT OF WAY OF THE
PACIFIC ELECTRIC RAILWAY; THENCE NORTHWESTERLY,
ALONG SAID NORTHEASTERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE 297.35
FEET TO A POINT IN THE WEST LINE OF SAID EAST ONE
HALF OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF THE NORTHWEST
QUARTER OF SAID SECTION 23, THENCE, NORTHERLY ALONG
SAID WEST LINE 685.75 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING.
EXCEPTING THE NORTHERLY 258 FEET OF THE WESTERLY
188.1 FEET; AND
WHEREAS, thereafter, within the time prescribed by law,
an interested party or the City Council, on its own motion, caused
the review of said Planning Commission action at a public hearing,
noticed and held as prescribed by law and, as a result thereof,
the City Council does hereby make the following findings:
1. That there are no special circumstances applicable to
the property which do not apply to other property in the same
vicinity and zone.
2. That strict application of the zoning code does not de-
prive the property of privileges enjoyed by other property in the
same vicinity and zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that said Variance be, and the same is hereby,
denied.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 15th day of February,
1977.
