A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM URGING THAT THE ORANGE
COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION ESTAB-
LISHED UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF AB 1246
CONTINUE UTILIZATION OF EXISTING TRANS-
PORTATION COMMITTEES AS AN INTEGRAL
ELEMENT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION PLANS.
WHEREAS, the State Legislature recently passed Assembly
Bill 1246, which mandates the creation of a new Orange County
Transportation Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Commission
will coordinate funding under the arterial highway funding pro-
grams (AHFP) and the federal aid urban programs (FAU); and
WHEREAS, the existing technical advisory committees
have done an effective job of coordinating transportation pro-
grams in Orange County; and
WHEREAS, the creation of a new bureaucracy to administer
transportation programs in Orange County can only serve to hamper
already efficient transportation funding processes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Anaheim
urges the Orange County Transportation Commission established under
the authority of AB 1246 to continue utilization of existing
transportation committees as an integral element in the develop-
ment of County transportation plans.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 21st day of December, 1976.
