A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE EMPLOY14ENT OF
ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS TO RESTORE ELECTRICAL
SERVICES DURING AN EMERGENCY SITUATION; AND
AUTHORIZING THE UTILITIES DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE
AGREEMENTS PERTAINING TO SAID SERVICES.
WHEREAS, on Saturday, November 27, 1976, a
windstorm occurred in the City of Anaheim, the severity of
which caused extensive damage to the City's electric
utility facilities, resulting in widespread electric power
outages; and
WHEREAS, because of a four. -day holiday weekend,
many City of Anaheim employees were away from home and
unavailable to help restore electric service; and
WHEREAS, City's Utilities Director, because of
the emergency nature of the situation, in order to restore
electrical power in a timely manner, was required to
employ electric line construction contractors to help
available City crews to restore electric services; and
WHEREAS, two electrical contractors, Electrical
Contracting Engineers, Inc., and Grissom & Johnson Inc.,
were able to respond to the emergency situation with
linemen to help restore service; and
WHEREAS, Electrical Contracting Engineers, Inc.,
and Grissom & Johnson Inc., submitted to the City of Anaheim
their rates for labor and equipment in connection with
services required to restore electrical power; and
WHEREAS, letter agreements with Electrical
Contracting Services, Inc., and Grissom & Johnson Inc., have
been prepared detailing said rates for labor and equipment,
the terms of which are acceptable to the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the terms and
conditions of said letter agreements are hereby approved
and accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Utilities Director
of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to execute said agreements on behalf of the City
Council of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed
by me this 30th day of November, 1976.
