A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM APPROVING A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR LANDSCAPING OF CER-
TAIN FREEWAYS AND STREETS LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT FOR AND ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, State, in conjunction with the construction
of the Route 57 and 91 Freeways, has provided additional rights
of way for Sunkist Street, La Palma Avenue, Tustin Avenue, and
Riverdale Avenue (Batavia Street) and Miraloma Avenue shown as
Exhibit "A" on file in the City Clerk's office and has recon-
structed them on embankments as they approach the freeway over -
crossings; and
WHEREAS, State proposed to landscape the Route 57 from
Route 91 to Lambert Road on Route 91 from Placentia Avenue to
the Newport Freeway at some future date; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that, in order to achieve the
full benefits of the proposed landscaping project in enhancing
the safety, welfare, convenience, and enjoyment of the public
using the State facility, it will be to the State's benefit that
the proposed landscaping treatment of the State facility be ex-
tended to portions of the roads to be relinquished pursuant to
this agreement; and
WHEREAS, City presently desires to landscape Sunkist
Street (Slope Nos. 2 and 3), La Palma Avenue (Slope Leos. 5 and 6),
Riverdale Avenue (Batavia) Overcrossings (Slope Nos. 13, 14, 15,
and 16), and Miraloma Avenue (Slope Nos. 17 and 19); and is will-
ing to design, construct and maintain the landscaping on said em-
bankment slopes; and
WHEREAS, State is willing to provide .funds for land-
scaping the Sunkist Street (Slope Nos. 2 and 3), La Palr:a Avenue
Overcrossings (Slope Nos. 5 and 6), Riverdale Avenue (Batavia)
(Slope Nos. 13, 14, 15, and 16), and Miraloma Avenue (Slope Nos.
17 and 19) at this time; and to fund the Sunkist Street (Slope
No. 4), La Palma Avenue (Slope Nos. 7 and 8), Tustin Avenue Over -
crossings (Slope Nos. 9, 10, 11, 12), and Miraloma Avenue (Slope
Nos. 18 and 20) in the future when the area develops; and
WHEREAS, a Cooperative Agreement to achieve the results
indicated supra has this day been submitted, the terms and condi-
tions whereof are satisfactory to the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the terms and conditions of a Cooperative
Agreement between the City of Anaheim and the State of California
for landscaping on certain freeways and streets in the City of
Anaheim be, and the same is hereby, approved.
