A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO FILE AN URBAN ECONOMIC PLANNING
GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
ADMINISTRATION PURSUANT TO THE PUBLIC WORKS AND
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1965, AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has
authorized the establishment of a Federal Grant -In -Aid
Program under the Public Works and Economic Development
Act of 1965, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
finds that there is a need for utilization of economic
analysis on a more formalized basis and that formalization
of the economic function would aid policy and decision
makers of the City in more efficiently utilizing and direct-
ing the City's policies and resources and would thereby
encourage industrial development in the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be
for the benefit and in the best interests of the City to
establish a Comprehensive Economic Planning Process to
undertake "front end" analysis of City problems and to
include the development of industrial information and
systems, statistical system, capital project analysis,
economic impact, feasibility analysis, growth analysis and
other similar factors; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize
the City Manager of the City of Anaheim to execute and file
said Urban Economic Planning Grant Application with the
Economic Development Administration as of November 2, 1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council of the City of Anaheim does hereby approve the
filing of an Urban Economic Planning Grant Application
with the Economic Development Administration as of
November 2, 1976•
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of
the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized to
execute and file an Urban Economic Planning Grant
Application with the Economic Development Administration
pursuant to the Public Works and Economic Development Act
of 1965, as amended.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed/
