A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
COUNTY OF ORANGE ENTITLED "JOINT AGREEMENT
FOR THE OPERATION OF THE ORANGE COUNTY
AUTOMATIC TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM."
WHEREAS, the administration of State, County and City
government and the operation of law enforcement agencies by
such governmental units requires the maintenance and operation
of coordinated teletypewriter facilities; and
WHEREAS, such facilities have heretofore been estab-
lished within the County of Orange and have been maintained and
operated under provisions of certain agreements by and between
the County and certain cities within the County; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that additional cities may
from time to time in the future desire to avail themselves of
teletypewriter service; and
WHEREAS, rates and charges for teletypewriter service
are not constant and may vary from time to time in the future;
and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange has tendered to the City
an agreement, entitled "Joint Agreement for the Operation of the
Orange County Automatic Telecommunications System," to be entered
into by and between the County and the Cities of Anaheim, Brea,
Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Fullerton, Fountain Valley,
Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, La Habra, La Palma,
Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Orange, Placentia, San Clemente,
Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton, Tustin and Westminster, providing
that the teletypewriter service heretofore established in the
County of Orange and as the same may be hereafter extended shall
be under the general supervision and control of the County,
upon the terms and conditions set forth in said agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the terms and
conditions of said agreement are satisfactory and that said
agreement should, therefore, be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the agreement entitled "Joint Agreement
for the Operation of the Orange County Automatic Telecommunica-
tions Sytem," tendered to the City by the County of Orange, to
be entered into between the County and the twenty -two cities
hereinabove named, providing that the teletypewriter service
heretofore established in the County of Orange and as the same
may be hereafter extended shall be under the general supervision
and control of the County upon the terms and conditions set forth
in said agreement, be, and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
